Abstract

This writing is an effort to offer how to socialize the understanding of  Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir). It starts from the mapping the needs of society toward Qur'anic exegesis, the method being used, as well as the obstacles being faced either internal obstacles such as the ideas or the thoughts of the exegete or external obstacles such as the intellectual level of society in accepting that thought.

Abstract

This writing puts its emphasis on the importance of education in the family since the family is the smallest unit in society. In addition to that; in the formal educations, the children get from the school only give standard service, whereas each child has a very special and unique character and different level of intelligence. There are three models of upbringing education, they are: authoritarian model, democratic model, and permissive model. Shifting paradigm in the family is needed to be done, that is from "Parents oriented" to. "Children oriented". Further, in relation to Islamic education, some internalization stages of the Qur'anic values in the family are: the first is through the stage of habituation of the Qur 'anic values, the second is through the stage of identification of the Qur 'anic values, and the third is the stage of crystallization of the Qur'anic values.

Abstract

This writing studies "standing position" of Islam among other Divine Religions (Agama Samawi) such as Jews and Christianity. Islam is the substance of the teachings revealed to some prophets before the Prophet Muhammad, and Muhammad is considered to be the seal of the prophethood. Therefore, the dialogue to be conducted among those Divine Religions such as the dialogue with Jews and Christianity requires that both Jews and Christianity go back to their original teachings and forms, before both have gone through the changes for the reasons of time and human intervention. It is without that requirement, the dialogue being conducted among Divine Religions will never come to an agreement to the meeting point.

Abstract

This writing elaborates three parts of study. The first concerning the essence of livelihood, which studies the meaning of livelihood, as well as other terms having the similar meanings with livelihood such as an-ni'mah, al-mata', al-fadl, al-mal, al-khair, ar-rahmah, al-ala', al-kanz and al-qintar. The second is concerning the sources of livelihood, studying the livelihood from the sources of the universe such as from the earth, the sky, the ocean, the flora, and the fauna. The third is concerning the strategy to get the livelihood, the obligation to do the utmost effort, the encouragement to work hard, the understanding that not all the will can be achieved and the encouragement not to desperate when all the efforts done have not got satisfied result yet.

Abstract

This writing is a research on the work-ethos (the work ethics) of the Institute of the Correction for the Qur'anic Manuscript (Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an), the institute of research, development, education and training of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia by using the theory of USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth). It is from the description and explanation as well as observation, the writer concludes that (1) the level of work ethics service of the correction for the Qur'anic manuscript is still low and is needed to be improved, and (2) for certain skills such as the knowledge about the art of writing the manuscript (rasm Al-Qur'an) is also needed to be improved The strategy worth doing is to improve its human resources by conducting workshop, trainings, managing the work room and monitoring all the activities either to the publisher of the Qur'an or to society.

Abstract

To some extend, this writing is a library research. However, the primary sources is the ancient manuscripts (Qur'anic manuscripts) in the collection of Bayt Al-Qur’an & Museum Istiqlal, Jakarta. Some philological steps are used, in particular in the case of making inventory and manuscript description. This writing is an effort to observe and to analize some aspects of that ancient manuscript. Those aspects are as follow: (a) the aspect called rasm or the writing being used to rewrite and copy the manuscript; (b) reading symbols which consist of tajwid (the grammar of reading the Qur'an) and the sign of stopping the reading; and (c) calligraphy or khat (the art of Arabic writing). Considering that this kind of research is still rare, it is worth noting that this writing is still at the preliminary stage.

Abstract

Generally, the model of the institution for memorizing the Qur'an (learning the Qur'an by heart) in Indonesia is the institute for specializing the Qur'an which is held by the family, one of the units in the institute of the Islamic boarding school (pesantren); and special institute which is held by the Islamic foundation. The chains of the memorization (sanad tahfiz) are dominated by five Islamic scholars having studied in Saudi Arabia. They are KH M Munawwir of Krapyak; KH M Munawwir of Sidayu Gresik; KH M Said bin Ismail of Sampang Madura, KH M Mahfuz at-Tarmasi of Pacitan, and KH M Dahlan Khalil of Jombang

Abstract

Museum is a place where collections are stored for the purposes of research, study and recreation. Bayt Al-Qur 'an & Museum Istiqlal is a government institution under the authority of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia managing the manuscripts (mushaf) either new or ancient ones, as well as other Islamic heritage materials. It is hoped that this institution will be able to play its role in collecting the materials, in preserving its materials as well as in making the network to invite as many visitors as possible. It is for this reason that the socialization can be done through the activities such as MTQ (the contest of the art of reading the Holy Qur'an), publication and cooperation with other departments.
